Capital Region Man Honored as Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s 2022 National Man of the Year
ALBANY, N.Y. – The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) announced online Tuesday that Adam Neary of Guilderland has been selected as the organization’s National Man of the Year.
Neary, a principal at WealthOne LLC, was named in June as the Regional Man of the Year by the LLS Connecticut–Albany–Eastern New York Chapter after shattering a fundraising record in the annual Man and Woman of the Year (MWOY) campaign. Raising $1,095,692, Neary’s efforts garnered the attention of the national organization.
Neary participated in the MWOY campaign in honor of his friend and mentor Todd Slingerland, who is now in remission after a struggle with aggressive lymphoma in 2021.
“Todd is a survivor today because of the investment, research, and support for which LLS tirelessly champions,” said Neary. “Just because Todd’s cancer is dormant, doesn’t mean we should be — the fight continues, and it will continue until we find a cure.”
Rick Ostroff, the board chairman of the local LLS Chapter, congratulated Adam Neary on his record-setting accomplishment and national award.
“Adam is a shining example of how hard the Capital Region fights to end blood cancers,” said Ostroff. “In recent years, our growing LLS chapter has outraised chapters in many major metropolitan areas. It’s all thanks to people like Adam who selflessly donate their time and resources to gathering support for this fight. The LLS Albany Board and I extend our warmest congratulations to Adam Neary.”
