ALBANY, N.Y. – Ostroff Associates founder, president and CEO Rick Ostroff was re-elected as board chairman of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Upstate New York/Vermont Chapter in an election of a new board and slate of officers Thursday night.

Rick Ostroff will lead LLS for a second term after the organization overcame a pandemic year full of challenges, thus far exceeding revenue goals for 2020-2021. A local team of LLS officers and board members will aid Ostroff in the financial, legal, public relations and logistics sectors, among others.

“I am proud and honored to chair this talented board, as LLS returns to a full calendar of fundraising and advocacy activities in 2021 and 2022,” said Ostroff. “Having years of personal and family history with LLS, I know the value of advocacy and fundraising toward fighting deadly blood cancers. Our board will redouble efforts in the coming year to once again exceed our goals, support the search for a cure, and fund critical access to cancer care.”

Rick Ostroff’s parents, Jules and Bonnie, were founding members of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s local chapter in the early 1960s and served in leadership roles on the local and national levels. His father was a board member and served as secretary of the National Leukemia Society of America. His mother served as chapter president and secretary.

In 2017, Rick announced a $100,000 personal donation to Albany Medical Center, which continues to assist families of pediatric cancer patients at the Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at the Bernard & Miller Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center.
