In 2011 Kate joined Ostroff Associates with a well-rounded background in government and politics. Respected for her high degree of professionalism and keen attention to detail, Kate has consistently delivered for her clients. She has successfully advocated for funding, pressed for key changes to existing law and prevented the enactment of potentially harmful statutory language. In addition to her legislative work, Kate has a range of regulatory expertise and has educated key stakeholders on such matters.

Her portfolio includes corporations, non-profits, and trade associations with issues including, but not limited to: financial services, higher education, consumer protection, transportation, racing and gaming, economic development, and the entertainment industry.

Kate’s passion for government began while attending the University at Albany, when she was selected to participate in the New York State Senate’s Session Assistant Program. As Session Assistant and later as a Legislative Aide for Senator Joseph E. Robach, then Chairman of the Senate Committee on Civil Service & Pensions, Kate gained a thorough understanding of the legislative process through practical experience. Kate then went on to serve as Legislative Aide to Senator Jim Alesi, supporting his role as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Economic Development and Small Business.

Following her tenure with the New York State Senate, Kate worked as Deputy Finance Director of the New York State Senate Republican Campaign Committee. Her responsibilities included maintaining campaign finance data, assisting in the planning of fundraisers, coordinating volunteers and organizing campaign activities.

Immediately prior to joining the firm, Kate served as Legislative Director at the top-ranked lobbying firm in the State. Kate monitored legislation, regulations and media for over 150 clients spanning a wide variety of issue areas.

Kate holds a M.S. degree in Organization Management from the School of Management at Sage Graduate School. She received her B.A. in Political Science from the State University of New York at Albany. In 2018 Kate was recognized by City & State NY’s “40 Under 40: Rising Stars.”
