Scott Wexler

Scott joined Ostroff Associates, Inc. in January 2006. He has over 35 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, and association management.

For more than 35 years, Scott has served as executive director of the Empire State Restaurant & Tavern Association (ESRTA), a small business trade association based in Albany. As executive director, he manages the Association’s legislative program utilizing direct lobbying, grassroots activity, and electoral strategies to advance the association’s agenda. Scott has developed many personal relationships over the years giving him access to key decision-makers in all branches of government.

Prior to his time with ESRTA, Scott was executive director of the Student Association of the State University of New York from 1982 – 1985 providing him with experience in association management, fundraising, and meeting planning. Scott served on the Albany City School District’s Board of Education for six years, including three years as board president. His work in that position gave him experience in education financing, budgeting, and capital construction.

During his tenure at Ostroff Associates, Scott has worked on a wide variety of issues including economic development, financial services, gaming, hospitality, insurance, labor, procurement, small business and tax policy. He is widely viewed as one of the leading experts in New York State’s Alcoholic Beverage Control Law and the New York State Liquor Authority.

Scott has a degree in Political Science from the State University of New York at Albany. He and his wife Mary Alice reside in Delmar and have two children.
