Ostroff Associates Delivers Backpacks and School Supplies to the South End Children’s Cafe

This week Ostroff Associates team put together backpacks filled school supplies for students at the  South End Children’s Cafe. The café is working on creating a safe reopening plan for the school year. Beginning in October, SECC will assist the children who are virtual learners by offering individualized assistance during the day and assist the students attending school in person by offering individualized homework help after school. As always, the dedicated team at SECC will cook for the children and provide dinner each day. To further support the community amid the pandemic, the café is also providing a weekly food distribution program on Fridays from 1pm – 4pm. Thank to you Executive Director Tracie Killar and her amazing team for continuing to go above and beyond to help our community! And a special thanks to Chantel, Ashton, Erin and our youngest staff member Eleanor for helping delivery the backpacks to the café!‍

About the South End Children’s Cafe

The mission of the South End Children’s Cafe is to impact food security, address food equality and food justice, enhance academic success and positively influence the physical and mental health of children residing in the South End of Albany, New York by offering free, healthy dinner time meals along with homework help, academic enrichment, mentoring, exercise and participation in the arts Monday through Friday. Community volunteers join the children daily, assisting with school projects, homework, goal setting and acquiring needed resources for good health and overall wellness.
