Ostroff Associates Partners with Local Charities to Give Back this Holiday Season

Key Highlights
January 22, 2024

This holiday season Ostroff Associates has continued our longstanding tradition of community involvement by partnering with several local organizations to help their critical work supporting and uplifting vulnerable members of our community. The Ostroff Associates team collected and donated hundreds of items including food, school supplies, toys, toiletries, and essential winter clothing for men, women and children for Girls, Inc., the Homeless and Travelers Aid Society (HATAS), the Veterans Miracle Center and the South End Children’s Café.

Ostroff Associates embraces and prioritizes the spirit of giving by supporting numerous charitable causes and local organizations throughout the year as well. We’re grateful for this opportunity to serve our community and look forward to continuing to build on our charitable efforts in 2020.

You can learn more about the incredible work of each of these organizations and the people they serve below:

  • Girls, Inc. inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold through direct service and advocacy. The nonprofit offers a non-traditional, holistic and research-based educational approach to programming, helping girls improve their self-esteem, challenge barriers to their individual success, explore career possibilities and carve out a path for the future. The Capital Region chapter serves 1,000 girls at their local centers providing free after-school and mentoring programs to students in grades K-12. Learn more about all that Girls Inc. offers here.
  • Homeless and Travelers Aid Society (HATAS) was formed in 1924 with the mission to end homelessness within Albany County and the Capital Region. They meet the immediate need for shelter, food and clothing in addition to addressing the long-term need for affordable housing and employment.
  • The Veterans Miracle Center offers veterans and active-duty military personnel real solutions that will enhance their lives. They provide clothing, personal care and hygiene products, houseware items, ambulatory equipment, toys for their children and much more. The center also provides access to specialists and counselors to assist with personal needs, jobs, housing or financing. All goods and services are available free-of-charge to veterans and their immediate household.
  • The South End Children’s Café’s mission is to impact food insecurity, address food equality and food justice, enhance academic success and positively influence the physical and mental health of children residing in the South End of Albany by offering free, healthy meals along with homework help, academic enrichment, mentoring, exercise and participation in the arts Monday through Friday. Community volunteers join the children daily, assisting with school projects, homework, goal setting and acquiring needed resources for good health and overall wellness.
