SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (WRGB) – Two heavyweight fundraisers went toe to toe Thursday for a very good cause.

The Great Bartender Challenge was held at Frog Alley Brewing in Schenectady.

It featured the two co-chairs of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk, which is coming up in October.

Bill Lia of the Lia Auto Group and Rick Ostroff of Ostroff Associates have helped raise millions of dollars in recent years to help find cures for blood cancers. On Thursday, they were serving up drinks for tips that go straight to LLS.

Light the Night is Saturday, October 19 at Siena College. It’s not too late to get involved — just check out the website for the upstate New York chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
